Physical Therapy Wellness Programs

What if there is a way to feel and function your best while staying healthy and injury-free?

Well, there is… and we will show you the way at Specht Physical Therapy.

Check out our Personal Best Wellness Programs and pick the one that is right for you. Or come in for a Physical Therapy Checkup to find out what we can do for you.

Keeping you healthy and free from pain is our primary goal.

  • We offer wellness programs for individuals of all ages and activity levels.
  • You will receive an evaluation session with one of our physical therapists who will design your specific program.
  • Three ‘one-on-one’ sessions with your therapist completes the program.
  • At the conclusion of your sessions, participants are given a personalized wellness program that can easily be performed at home or in the gym.

EACH PERSONAL BEST WELLNESS PROGRAM CONSISTS OF THREE ESSENTIAL COMPONENTS:

Evaluation
Your program begins with an evaluation including cutting-edge testing procedures to determine what exercises and activities are ideal for you.

Exercise
Your individualized program will be designed using physical therapy exercise techniques:

  • Release: Self-myofascial release to relieve tension and stiffness in difficult to stretch areas.
  • Rebuild: Corrective exercises to stretch tight areas and strengthen weak muscle groups.
  • Re-Educate: Posture, body mechanics and balance training for optimal alignment and injury prevention.

Training
Your program will be designed with Functional Training in mind. This approach to exercise yields the best results by improving movement efficiency and body mechanics during the functional activities that you do every day.

We Keep you Moving...for Life.

PERSONAL BEST WELLNESS PROGRAMS

Physical Therapy Checkup

  • The Physical Therapy Checkup is for anyone who wishes to keep feeling and functioning at their best. Information is power, and this service will give you the power to stay active and injury free.
  • You can find out how well your body is working, biomechanically and functionally with the Physical Therapy Checkup.
  • Our testing procedures will reveal muscle imbalances, posture abnormalities, joint stiffness, core weakness, flexibility problems and body mechanics deficiencies, among other physical factors that are related to your ability to move and function properly.
  • According to the American Physical Therapy Association all individuals should visit a physical therapist at least annually to promote optimal health, wellness, and fitness, as well as to slow the progression of impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities.

Fit 2 Play
  • Designed for injury prevention for the field and court athlete. Soccer, basketball, football, baseball, lacrosse and hockey players can benefit with enhanced movement efficiency and faster recovery between workouts.
  • Many athletes have muscle imbalances, weak or tight areas, that are hindering performance and creating injuries.
  • You can correct these imbalances with an individualized stretching, strengthening and neuromuscular training routine in our Fit 2 Play Program.
  • Testing: Functional Movement Screen, Y-Balance Test, Plyometric Hop Tests and Muscle Balance Assessment.

Fit 2 Run

  • Designed for runners who want to become more efficient and avoid injuries while maintaining or increasing training volume. Perfect for all runners from 5k first-timers to seasoned marathoners.
  • Running places extraordinary demands on your body, commonly resulting in foot, ankle, knee and back injuries.
  • You can learn a personalized stretching and strengthening program to improve running efficiency and stay injury-free in our Fit 2 Run Program.
  • Testing: Functional Movement Screen, Running Assessment and Muscle Balance Assessment.

Fit 2 Pitch
  • Designed for throwing athletes who want to maintain good muscle balance, prevent injury and optimize performance. Prepare for a successful season with this program or begin mid-season to finish strong.
  • Rotator cuff injuries, weakness and ‘dead arm’ are common to pitchers, particularly early in the season.
  • You can prevent throwing-related rotator cuff problems by developing arm and core strength, along with the flexibility you need, in our Fit 2 Pitch Program.
  • Testing: Functional Movement Screen, Rotator Cuff Strength Testing with Dynamometer and Muscle Balance Assessment.

Fit 2 Lift
  • Perfect for beginners or anyone who has been avoiding weight training due to injury.
  • Does this sound like you? “The pain goes away but comes back every time that I lift.” Exercise should not hurt, but finding a solution to a chronic injury can be frustrating.
  • You can avoid pain and injury in the weight-room, by developing correct muscle balance and lifting techniques, with our Fit 2 Lift Program.
  • Testing: Muscle Balance Assessment, Strength Testing with Dynamometer and Lifting Assessment.

Spine Fit
  • Perfect for anyone who is interested in preventing the recurrence of back and neck pain, for general health and wellness or to improve sports performance.
  • Back and neck problems can make the most basic activities difficult and exercise impossible.
  • You can prevent back and neck problems by developing good posture, core strength and global flexibility with our Spine Fit Program.
  • Testing: Functional Movement Assessment or Muscle Balance Assessment, Posture Measurements and Core Stability Testing.

Osteo Fit
  • Designed to improve bone density and spine alignment through strengthening, weight bearing exercises and posture improvement activities.
  • Osteoporosis is a serious disease in which bones can become fragile and more prone to fractures.
  • You can help prevent osteoporosis and osteopenia by doing a simple strengthening routine in your home or gym with our Osteo Fit Program.
  • Testing: Postural Measurements and Muscle Balance Assessment.

Balance Fit
  • Designed for balance enhancement. Anyone who wants to maximize functional balance, become more stable over their feet and stay active, can benefit.
  • Deterioration of balance is common with certain medical conditions and as a natural consequence of aging.
  • We can help you. No matter what your age, you can improve your balance and quality of life with simple exercises in our Balance Fit Program.
  • Testing: Research-Based Balance Tests and Senior Fitness Test.

Posture Fit
  • Perfect for anyone who has difficulty maintaining good posture, and sits or drives for prolonged periods. Particularly helpful for anyone who works at a desk and wants to prevent injury.
  • Correct posture looks good of course, but it is much more than cosmetic! Back and neck problems often result, if you are unable to properly control your spine during functional activities.
  • You can improve your posture with stretching, strengthening, spinal mobility and neuromuscular re-training exercises in our Posture Fit Program.
  • Testing: Posture Measurements, Muscle Balance Assessment and Core Stability Testing.

Senior Fit

  • Designed for anyone over the age of 60 who wants to get the most out of their exercise program, while staying fit and strong for years to come.
  • Like many seniors and boomers you want to become more active, but nagging injuries, stiff joints and tight muscles are holding you back.
  • You can stay loose, active, strong and injury-free by learning a simple stretching and strengthening routine with our Senior Fit Program.
  • Testing: Senior Fitness Test or Functional Movement Screen, Muscle Balance Assessment.
